Every MBE reactor is built in a dedicated class 1000 clean room to exacting standards at Riber's headquarters, using methodical in-house routines to ensure the production of exceptionally clean, highly reliable reactors. Every MBE system is guaranteed to reach ultra-high vacuum levels that enable the production of epitaxial layers with state-of-the-art material quality.
Riber's portfolio of research machines can deposit a vast range of epitaxial layers on wafers up to 4-inch in diameter. These reactors, which include the legendary Compact 21, are capable of depositing high-quality films of arsenides, phosphides and antimonides; gallium nitride; mercury cadmium telluride; II-VI material; silicon germanium; and metals and oxides.
In 1988 Riber launched the world's first MBE production system, and today there are three fully automated machines to select from: The MBE 49, MBE 6000 and MBE 7000. Throughout of the flagship system, the MBE7000, is almost 24,000 6-inch wafers per year.
